Born Romantic Review

~This is an unusual movie...it's the story of three guys who are totally unlucky in their romantic lives..

This film is actually three separate stories which only come together when the three wanna be Romeo's converge in a London salsa club...each fella thinks that knowing how to dance is a key to winning over the ladies they are pursuing.

What makes this such an offbeat film is that at points it is seemingly interrupted by a "Greek Chorus" of other men who meet in a cafe and expound upon various notions/opinions/theories about love, relationships and women. And after each of these "intermissons" the story of each of these three men is continued...

For purposes of this review (being this is a fan site for Craig Ferguson) I'll review his performance in this movie....

Mr. Ferguson really gets to let loose his acting chops in this film...

He plays a guy who although he is separated from his wife is still sharing the apartment with her.. and this makes for some very funny moments as each character pursues their own romantic lives with other people!!

Frankie (Craig's character) is also quite obsessed with the whole "Rat Pack" era of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

He watches "Ocean's 11" and copies Sinatra's moves...

And in a grand gesture to win over a new lady he gathers together a band of older gents and seranades her in the club!!!

And ya know what?! Much to my pleasant surprise Craig Ferguson can really sing!!

There are many moments in this film that are easily relatable...everyone has been pursued or has done the pursuing...and ya gotta really cheer for these guys when...well, I'm not gonna give away anything else now!!

So, check out "Born Romantic"..and see for yourself if what Craig said (when he was on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" last September ) "...it's hysterically funny, there's lots of dancing and naked women. Alright..one of those isn't true, but..." is true...
